National Manufacturing Week Oct 3-7

What is Manufacturing Day/Week?

Manufacturing Day is a national event meant to address common misperceptions about manufacturing.  Through tours, open houses, and other events we will help educate, encourage and inspire the next generation of manufacturers. The official date for Manufacturing Day is always the first Friday of October.  In West Michigan we celebrate Manufacturing Day as a week long effort from October 3 - 7, 2016.

How Do I Get Involved?

Manufacturing Day events are typically hosted by manufacturers and attended by anyone who is curious about modern manufacturing and would like to learn more. Audiences include students, parents, educators, media, civic leaders, and local communities in general.

Step 1: Decide

Decide on your level of participation.  Choose one....or all three options!

  • Host an event for Manufacturing Day.  Show the community what today's manufacturing really looks like. You can find a host kit here.
  • Visit a local school. Plan an activity day with students to explain manufacturing in a fun and creative way.
  • Promote Manufacturing Day to your network and employees through social media, flyers and email marketing.

Step 2:  Commit

Click here to register your event. Registration deadline for manufacturers is August 12, 2016.
